About Kristi

Born and raised in a small town in North Dakota, I made the move with my family in high school to yet another small town in Wyoming. But this town did have two stop lights! It was there I discovered my passion for creative writing, editing and design under the leadership of my journalism teacher who guided me on my path.

During a  music competition, I found where I wanted to spend my years of higher education at a hidden treasure nestled along rolling hills and within a familiar small town that extended comfort with open arms. Chadron, Nebraska, became my home for the next few years as I studied English/Journalism and vocal music. Writing internships gave my experience in newspaper and public relations, while my vocal music studies took me abroad for a vocal tour of performances throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Upon graduation, the Colorado Rockies called and I garnered a job working in specialty publications for a daily newspaper. After a year, I was promoted to editor where opportunities presented me to expand publications, assist in advertising and marketing, reinvent a local magazine, manage social media and contribute to website presence. Social media quickly became my passion in both my professional and personal lives, allowing me to embark in a new direction for my career.

I transitioned out of newspaper and into local government where I manage communications and public relations, social media, website, event planning and community outreach.

With a kaleidoscope of experience, I provide a unique perspective on communications and public relations, with a passion for social media that is transitioning the world of communicators today.

Outside of work, I’m a wife, outdoor enthusiast, landscaper, cook and dog owner. Our 100-pound chocolate lab is the world’s most spoiled dog, but we prefer it that way. You’ll often find me in the kitchen trying out new recipes, or enjoying a great walk or hike with the dog and hubby.

Thanks for following my journey of a Life, Love & a Lab. Cheers!
